LOWER HOUSE
Garage
The Lower House of the twin chalet complex, a three floor 12 x12 m all wooden building, is conveniently reached through the spacious garage basement and its skiroom, condominium style. Alternatively, keen sportsmen can enter the chalets from each floor, either through a traditional Engadine portico or via the terraces, after venturing the mostly steep and snow covered footpaths. From the convenient skiroom, the two chalets are accessed by a 15 person elevator.
Entresol
The concrete basement houses partially underground crew or «sports room» quarters, sleeping six. A separate eight person elevator for the staff leads from the garage to the «Entresol» with its lingerie and quarters, consisting of three double bedrooms with bathrooms and a small living room.
Further up, the separate elevator joins the «Restaurant» level via the «Garde Manger» of an industrial size kitchen, capable of catering to a serious restaurant. Featuring a staff dining area for six, the kitchen has a 300 kg food lift that makes spotless wine and dine catering to dozens of guests in the upper level «Hall» a breeze. The link being the wine cellar and the «office» area, discretely camouflaged behind double doors with a family history 1856 British Swiss Legion decor.
Restaurant
The ground floor hosts the «Restaurant» with a reception area and a spacious double gents and ladies restroom. Massive oak doors lead to the dining space, decorated in the style of a hunter’s lodge. Adjacent lies the industrial kitchen, the «Garde Manger» and a 300 kg food lift that makes spotless wine and dine catering to dozens of guests a breeze.
At this level there also is a large double bedroom with a 25 m2 en-suite bathroom with a granite-cave shower and Victorian furniture. Both of the areas are connected by a sunny terrace that invites for outdoor dining in summer.
Hall
On the first floor you enter the «Hall», via the vestibule, featuring traditional alpine artifacts, such as an alpine eagle and a full size ibex. The grand billiard room living area with an open fireplace creates a sumptuous atmosphere in which to unwind or entertain after a day on the slopes. The red full size Scottish pool table is an essential entertainer as well as the salon eye-catcher, whilst the tucked-away library can offer a quiet space and TV area. The wine cellar with food lift and bar compliments the drawing room.
Mezzanin
Two open massive beam roofed and loden curtained double bedrooms on the chalet’s top floor, each have a free-standing Victorian bathtub and a mahogany plated shower. King size beds, makeup toilettes and a fauteuil complete these 25 m2 spaces.
Both offer panoramic unobstructed views and are externally connected by a wide Tyrolian style roofed balcony, that has access to a sheltered area of the larch forest, where birds and red squirrels are daily guests while the fox, roe dear or a hare are a bit more rare. To read the fresh tracks of all these visitors in the morning after a night’s snowfall, is a revelation in itself.
The outdoor hot tub – quite a task to fire up – sits in this very «nature sensurround» spot, while on the same level, indoors in the Upper House, there is a turnkey infrared two person sauna in one of the huge walk-in dressing rooms, next to their king size bathrooms.
