Mezzanin
You enter the ground floor at the «Mezzanin» level from the exterior, the upmost level of the big 15 person elevator. A vestibule leads to two double bedrooms, each of them with an en-suite bathroom of 18 - 23 m2 and a big walk-in dressing room, one of them featuring an infrared sauna.
Both of the 30 - 40 m2 bedrooms have Scottish tweed wall covering, comfortable 1 x 2 m beds with orthopedic mattresses plus a third full size bed. The furnishing includes a makeup toilette, a chaise longue and, in the east wing bedroom, an open fireplace with a good spark shield. Gina Lollobrigida and George Bernhard Shaw both glance at you, from the walls, in black and white.
Bel Étage
A wooden staircase leads to the «Bel Étage» with its massive Engadine stove in the living room and a cozy children’s corner. It connects to a rustic family kitchen with an open fireplace and an angle table seating ten. Right en-suite is a spacious bathroom connecting to a twin bedroom, ideally accommodating nannies being conveniently next to the children’s kitchen.
Réduit
The focus of Pichalain comfort – the master suite – is situated on the top floor and is reached by a wooden staircase. It has direct access to the outdoors and via a short secret footpath swiftly connects the flaneur to the panoramic Wasserfall Promenade above the roofs of St. Moritz.
This generous 60 m2 suite has a beamed roof with extensive woodwork and a Prince de Galles Tweed covered wall closet row. From the king size double bed next to the terrace, with a makeup toilette on right hand, the perspective goes to a free standing Victorian bathtub, a fauteuil and the big mahogany desk. Sitting at it or relaxing on the sunny terrace you have a stunning view over the valley and St. Moritz with its lake.
Meanwhile, should you tire from occasional desk work, one small move backwards takes you to the soothing warmths of the ample bath. And, if you should feel like cooling off from too hot a bath, a maximum of ten steps will take you back out, rolling in the snow, in the middle of nowhere: certainly a good one of all the memory building experiences at the Pichalain.
